It is one of the six major hadith collections (Kutub al-Sittah) in Sunni Islam, compiled by Imam Ahmad ibn Shu’ayb an-Nasa’i (214-303 AH; ~829-915 CE).
The work commonly studied is Al-Sunan al-Sughra (also known as Sunan an-Nasa’i), which is an abridged/selected version of his larger work Al-Sunan al-Kubra.
It contains approx 5,700 hadiths (with repetitions) across 52 books (chapters).
